Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Criollos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Criollos smashed their close opponent Capitanes in Caguas 113-79. Caguas forced 21 Arecibo turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American point guard Travis Trice II (183-1993, college: Michigan St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 8 assists. The other American import forward Louis King (201-1999, college: Oregon) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-1992, college: UMass) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds for Arecibo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Criollos (16-8) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Arecibo at the other side keeps the second place with seven games lost. Arecibo will play next round against Ponce trying to get back on the winning streak. Caguas will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Manati on the road.
Third-ranked Santeros (11-12) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Atleticos (16-9) in Aguada. The visitors from San German managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Montrezl Harrell (203-1994, college: Louisville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and Andre Curbelo who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Atleticos' coach Eddie Casiano allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (191-1992) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds. San German maintains first position with 16-9 record. Aguada at the other side keeps the third place with 12 games lost. San German will play against Quebradillas (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Aguada will play against Ponce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Carolina between Gigantes and Vaqueros. Third ranked Gigantes (14-10) got a very close home victory over second-ranked Vaqueros (16-10). Gigantes managed to escape with a 1-point win 94-93 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vaqueros. The winners were led by George Conditt IV who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Even 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists by Gary Browne did not help to save the game for Bayamon. Vaqueros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Carolina maintains third position with 14-10 record having just three points less than leader Caguas. Defending champion Bayamon keeps the second place with ten games lost. Carolina will meet Mayaguez (#4) on the road in the next round. Bayamon will play against Guaynabo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Guaynabo - Ponce 78-101We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers
